#StillLife

An art initiative to fill the gap between food and people.

As humans, we have been experimenting with art since the prehistoric period and gradually learnt to study "still life" from the beginning of the middle ages. After many centuries still, we are using it as an art practice. However, for some humans, it's "not a still life, it's life" Food which they cannot afford to leave on the table or in the fridge becomes rotten food.

This initiative started during the pandemic and continues with a few paintings. Every sale of these "Digital paintings" serves a meal to a family. Feeding India (a non-profit organisation) also showed appreciation for this initiative.

 Social Engagement

Due to covid-19 people are more active on social media than ever. I decided to engage with people through this platform so that reach can touch mass. This awareness helped a lot to collect more donations.

 Social Engagement through native language

The majority of underprivileged people lost their jobs and other sources of income. There were a number of Migrant workers who could not reach their hometowns during the pandemic. They were sleeping on the roads with their children without having any food. I met them and contributed whatever I could and continued through different approaches to raise their voice and collected donations to feed their family. As they all speak only their mother tongue(Hindi) and their native language. I created more social engagement in the Hindi language, which has over 528 million native speakers. It is the most spoken language across Northern Indian homes.
